Many of you know that I am involved with many not for profit organizations in Middle Tennessee. Today is the Big Payback event by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. There are 525 local nonprofits all competing to raise money in 24 hours. Below are some of the organizations I am involved with, and I encourage you to donate to help these great groups!
The Heimerdinger Foundation – Enabling families affected by cancer to have necessary information, patient support, and resources to seek out effective treatments.
The Arc Williamson County – The Arc is a family-based organization committed to securing for all people with intellectual, developmental or other disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they live, learn, work and play. The Arc is further committed to supporting, empowering and improving the quality of life for individuals with intellectual, developmental or other disabilities and their families through advocacy, research and services.
United Way of Williamson County – Improving people’s lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
Tucker’s House – Tucker’s House partners with the families of children with disabilities by navigating the complex path from diagnosis to home, providing retrofitting resources so that their houses can become “home.” Retrofits may include ramps, accessible bathrooms, widening doors and hallways, flooring surfaces etc. These modifications make the child’s home accessible, safer and therapy friendly.
