Tennessee Annual Report for Businesses

If you are the manager/owner/partner in a corporation or LLC registered to do business in Tennessee, you have an annual report that must be filed with the Secretary of State. If your tax year ends in December, you should have received the notice in the mail this month. Certain information must be updated every year with the Secretary of State such as principal address and registered agent. You will also be required to pay the annual fee to keep your business registered. This process can be done online fairly easily, and is a very important step in keeping your business active in the State of Tennessee. If your business becomes inactive, you may lose the protection of the corporate shield, and your personal assets could be at risk.

The annual report is a great time to review your business as a whole as well. If you have any questions about the annual report or reviewing your business, contact Luke for a free initial consultation.
